Instrumental Ukulele for Beginners
September-17 to November-19, 2020 from 6:15 pm to 7:15 pm
An introduction to the wide world of ukulele, with a focus on playing in the ?chord-melody? style, which focuses on the uke itself and not singing and strumming ? handy for these unique times! Students will learn a variety of songs and techniques that really make the ukulele sing! We will be working from ?The Ukulele Way,? a series of books dedicated to chord-melody from renowned British Columbian uke pedagogist James Hill. This class is appropriate for those with no musical knowledge or ukulele training as well as those with a bit more experience.Students are asked to purchase the first and second ?The Ukulele Way? e-books on uketropolis.com for the class. If you are unable to find them, the instructor can assist you during the first class. The instructor would also request that all attendees wear face coverings. This class is held in Snowy’s Lounge. Check-in will begin 5 minutes prior to start time. Please enter the building through the Larch St entrance and check-in with the staff.NOTE: The nature of the Activity is such that you will interact with other people, continuous physical distance between other people cannot be guaranteed, and, by participating in the Activity, you are at risk of being infected by a pathogen, including but not limited to SARS-COV-2.
