| Calabria was occupied by many invading forces including Greek, Romans, French, Spanish and Arabs -all of which added to the traditional dishes of this area. The food of Calabria is simple: pastas and vegetables, complimented by olive oil and sausages. Come and help Rho and her friends teach us how to make a simple pasta dish. The various kinds of olive oil and its uses will be discussed. We will also enjoy some snacks of the region.

| Our Italian Luncheon will sell out fast. Come and enjoy some of the traditional dishes of the region including antipasti, a pasta favourite, a typical vegetable dish and a dessert. We will be using paper plates for this event - if you wish you can bring your own plates and utencils.

| Families with Italian roots have made a rich contribution to Vancouver's history. We will be celebrating the Region of Calabria, the ancestral home of many local families. Come and learn about the region from its history, culture, food, to its famous tourist destinations. Several of our seniors will share their stories of their journey and settlement in Canada.

| Ukrainian food trademarks are cabbage rolls and perogies. Come and learn how to make the smaller Ukrainian version of the cabbage roll and a typical Ukrainian dessert. We will taste these and other specialities. |
